Vallamkali – Jalotsavam (Boat Race Festival)
It is said that boat festivals were held at Valluvan Kadavu long ago. To preserve this tradition, from 2022
onwards, the Uthara Kerala Vallamkali Jalotsavam has been organized here every year. Major boat race teams
from North Kerala participate, and thousands of spectators gather on both sides of the river. The temple
committee also provides grand meals for devotees and participants, making Valluvan Kadavu Vallamkali a unique
cultural celebration in North Kerala.
